As a standard feature, Mutoh Ultima cutting plotters integrate Mutoh's e-pos (electronic positioning) technology. The Ultima's cutting head has a built-in laser-based optical sensor mechanism, capable of automatically detecting registration marks on prints made with any printer capable of printing onto PVC.

This feature enables users to perform contour cutting of pre-printed signs and stickers. Registration can be done fully automatically : before printing a sign, the user just places a rectangular box around her/his design. The printed design is loaded into the Ultima cutter and the optical sensor automatically scans the print's registration marks. After this automatic measuring cycle, the Ultima cutter will transmit the measured data to the Ultima in-the-box workflow software, which in turn will generate the contours to be cut. Cutting of contours then automatically commences.

Ultima cutters, with integrated USB interface for fast and reliable data transport, are fully PC & Mac compatible and come standard with a full starter software pack allowing signmaking and offering contour-cut versatility.
